Hoplon takes another step to strengthen Heavy Metal Machines in the competitive esports scenario. In addition to starring in the Metal League, an online tournament held regularly on different servers around the world and with cash prizes, now Heavy Metal Machines is also the game of a competition between college students, which will take place every six months in Brazil. The winning team will get airline tickets and accommodation to visit Florianópolis in midsummer, enjoy the best of the capital of Santa Catarina and get to know Hoplon studio and behind the scenes of HMM production.
Fifteen college student teams signed up and competed in the qualifying round on September 14th where the seven Elite Division teams were defined.
From now on, Elite Division matches take place on Saturdays, while the rest compete in the regular season, the Access Division, both happening every weekend until December, when the finals will take place and the respective champions will be known.
UniSocieSC - Guardians (SC), USP EACH - Griffins eSports (SP), UFRPE - Blackbulls Gaming (PE), São Judas - Polaris University (SP), Unimontes - Systematics (MG), UFABC - Falkol Storm (SP) and USP - Rumerus (SP) are the seven teams that make up the Elite Division and from now on they receive monthly sponsorship from Hoplon until the end of the championship.
